Brewer takes 10th at Fort Osage meet, leads Tigers to third in team scores
INDEPENDENCE – The Tigers already have their first top-10 finish from an individual in cross country this season.
The feat was achieved during the Fort Osage Invitational Cross Country Kickoff, a Sept. 1 competition in Independence. Jacey Brewer paced the Excelsior Springs girls team by finishing the 2-mile girls race in 14 minutes, 56.44 seconds to place 10th.
Ava Ishmael was the next highest Tiger finisher, placing 18th with her time of 16:25.14. Lacey Miller followed Ishmael, placing 19th in 16:33.89.
Macey Chaney finished in 18:44.87 for 24th place, followed by Kylie Albertson, who took 25th in 19:22.86; and Breanna Williams, who placed 27th in 19:43.35.
Freshmen Lexus Barney, Zoey Rogers and Chloe Albertson rounded out the group, finishing in 20:12.34, 21:12.46 and 23:04, respectively.
