MAKING A MAD DASH Marques Shouse outran the competition in the boys 200-meter dash at the Savannah High School Invitational.The Excelsior Springs sophomore won the event at the April 2 track and field meet in 23.21 seconds – one of two events the Excelsior Springs boys won. The guys also won the 800 relay in 1:33.53.Shouse was among a trio of top-three finishers for the Excelsior Springs boys. Marques McCant leaped 5.5 meters to place third in the long jump. Conrad Purnell took third in the triple jump by leaping 12.5.Excelsior Springs produced a pair of top-three girls finishers – Makenna Maring and Samantha McCoy.Maring, a senior, took third in the pole vault by clearing 2.28.
