Excelsior Springs ran into two hotshooting offenses last week in varsity boys basketball. First, the Excelsior Springs boys faced undefeated Winnetonka on Dec. 11, falling 81-17. Then, on Dec. 13, they faced Plattsburg in a tussle of teams nicknamed the Tigers, falling 58-30. Both losses were on the road. Turnovers hurt Excelsior Springs in the Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division defeat. Excelsior Springs committed 41 turnovers, with Winnetonka scoring 50 points off those turnovers.
