Excelsior Springs girls win Lexington tournament
Excelsior Springs girls wrestling coach Scott Schwaband his Tigers finished the 2024 portion of their season as champions.Producing six individual champions, the Excelsior Springs girls won the team title at a Dec. 28 tournament at Lexington High School with 148.5 points – 41 points ahead of runner-up Lexington.Analese Happy, Lillah Shue, Lilly Goetz, Pyper Layton, Haylee Ray and Adrian Crawley brought home the individual titles.Happy, a sophomore and returning state qualifier, took the 110-pound division title by going 2-0. She pinned Oak Park’s Remi Cox in 35 seconds for her first victory. Her second was a 19-4 technical fall over Harrisonville’s Joshlynn Lavelock.Shue went 3-0 to claim the 115 crown.
