Girls grapplers wrap season with team banquet
On March 28, Excelsior Springs put the finishing touch on its high school girls wrestling season.
That night, the Tigers held their endof- season banquet in the high school commons area. Coach Scott Schwab and his staff honored the girls for their hard work and dedication throughout the season, with Schwab handing out the Most Improved Wrestler, Most Outstanding Wrestler and Heart of a Tiger awards.
Sophomore Izabella Morgan received the Most Improved Wrestler Award. The Most Outstanding Wrestler Award went to senior Vada Burton and the Heart of a Tiger Award went to junior Jaylenn Hudlemeyer. Burton and Morgan also were recognized for being secondteam Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division selections, as were junior Alyssa Betts, first-year high schooler Adrien Crawley and junior Bailee Baxter.
