Excelsior Springs varsity girls basketball coach JD Biermann and his Tigers get to stay home to start postseason play.The Tigers, who were 8-12 overall entering Wednesday’s regular-season road meeting with Oak Grove, will host the Class 4 District 15 Tournament. Seeded second, they’ll open the singleelimination competition at 7 p.m. March 6 against Kansas City Central, with the winner to play for the district title at 5 p.m. March 8.Excelsior Springs was scoring nearly 40 points per game and allowing 45 points per game through 20 regular-season contests, Missouri State High School Activities Association records state. Central was averaging 28 points per game offensively and allowing 41 points per contest entering its regular-season finale Wednesday with Kansas City Northeast.Central and Excelsior Springs are among five schools in the tournament.
