Schwab honored again for wrestling officiating
When Rick Schwab stepped aside from coaching Excelsior Springs High School wrestling and moved into his current administrative position with the school district, he didn’t completely leave wrestling.
Schwab continues to play roles in the sport by helping lead the Tiger Youth Wrestling Club and officiating. In the latter role, he recently won the 2022 Zach Errett Award for his accomplishments as a mat official and his contributions to USA Wrestling.
It’s the second officiating award Schwab has received. He won the 2018 Santos Cageao Award, presented to the outstanding official at the Cadet/ Junior Freestyle Tournament, the USA Wrestling Officials Association website states.
