The Excelsior Springs Police Department reported the following arrests handled recently by the department. Thursday, July 11 At 12:25 a.m., Brendon Parsons, 38, was arrested for failure to appear.

Witt, Royals keep pace in AL playoff race

Kansas City shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. and his fellow Royals are on the edge of playoff contention with roughly six weeks left in the Major League Baseball regular season.

Led by Witt, who was named American League (AL) Player of the Month for July, the Royals were 64-52 and in third place in the AL Central Division entering this weekend’s two-game interleague series with St. Louis at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals have won seven of their last 10 entering the series.
