CLAY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE Critical Response Team K-9 Lola showed her love for local children when Sheriff Will Akin read a book at a storytime event. The book “Pawsitively Lola (A Service Dog’s Adventures)” is a heartwarming tale written by author Mike Dickerson of Lathrop. It shares the inspiring journey of K-9 Lola, from being a rescue dog to becoming a compassionate rescuer who assists people in crisis alongside her dedicated handler. The book is filled with captivating pictures that offer a glimpse into the daily life of K-9 Lola. Notably, all proceeds from the book’s sales will be donated to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Helping All Live Optimally (HALO) Team, a registered nonprofit organization that provides support to sheriff’s office employees facing financial hardships.

Animal Clinic donates pet oxygen masks to ESFD

Excelsior Springs residents who are pet owners can find comfort in knowing their beloved animals will receive improved assistance in the event of a disaster. The Excelsior Springs Fire Department has received pet oxygen masks, donated by the Excelsior Springs Animal Clinic (ESAC).
