The Good Samaritan Center of Rural Clay County and Ray County is putting their best foot forward by helping better the community. The Excelsior Springs location of the center has begun handing out free Narcan nasal spray to the community.

Platte-Clay trimming trees near area powerlines

Platte-Clay Electrical Cooperative (PCEC) will be working on tree-trimming projects in the Excelsior Springs and Lawson service areas for the next few months. Crews of PCEC staff and contractors will be working along 69 and 92 highways, as well as areas served by the Dry Fork substation such as 166th and 174th streets.
THE WEIGHT OF ICE and snow during winter storms can cause limbs or whole trees to fall near power lines, resulting in widespread power outages. State: Landowners reminded to update hunting permits

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) reminds Missouri landowners who get no-cost or reduced-cost deer and turkey landowner hunting permits that it may be time to reaffirm or update the property information submitted to MDC. Under the MDC Landowner Permit Application process, Missouri landowners with at least 20 acres must submit information for their qualifying properties to MDC in order to receive free or reduced-cost landowner deer and turkey permits.

Oldham signs to bowl, study at Avila

The Excelsior Springs High School club bowling team is sending its first team member to compete in college. Joshua Oldham recently signed his letter of intent to bowl and study at Avila University in Kansas City.
