Board discusses Snelling vacancy
The Excelsior Springs School Board of Education decided to reduce administrative staff by not filling a vacant assistant principal position at the high school, following Doug Baker’s appointment as activities director.Excelsior Springs School District (ESSD) Superintendent Dr.Jaret Tomlinson presented the recommendation, citing financial considerations and an evaluation of the district’s administrative structure as key factors in the decision.“Once Doug Baker was hired to be the next activities director, the district evaluated whether or not to refill the assistant principal position at the high school,” said Tomlinson. “It is our recommendation that we do not fill that opening and instead move forward with one high school principal, two assistant principals and one activities director.”According to Tomlinson, the move is projected to save the district approximately $150,000 in administrative costs for the nex...
