City council approves outdoor pool dome

Arizon Structures WorldWide LLC will provide the air-supported dome for $394,538, as approved May 16 by the City Council at the Hall of Waters. Headquartered in St. Louis with a manufacturing plant in Granite City, Illinois, Arizon has provided domes to such facilities as the Bloomington (Indiana) Tennis Center; the Braemar Golf Dome in Edina, Minnesota; and Blairwood Tennis, Swim and Fitness in Louisville, Kentucky, the company’s website states.
As Mayor Sharon Powell mentioned, the dome will be installed “outside the scope of the (community center expansion) project,” but paid for with bond funding used to expand the center, as recommended by project architect SFS Architecture Inc. of Kansas City.
