Clay County sheriff sees importance of community outreach programs
The Clay County Sheriff’s office has one mission statement — to accept change, create value and inspire others while bringing communities together with integrity and transparency. The department has made progress in promoting a positive connection with residents through their community outreach programs.
Such programs impact the public and how they relate to the officers working hard to protect and serve.
“Community outreach programs are about trust and support,” said Clay County Sheriff’s Relations Manager Sarah Boyd. “Trusting and supporting one another ensures that the public and law enforcement can come together and have a safer community.”
Bounce houses and petting zoos show youth that law enforcement is there for them, even if it is just for having fun. The activities bring forth mutual respect between youth and law enforcement agencies, she said.
