EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The National Trust for Historic Preservation unveiled its 2020 list of America’s 11 Most Endangered Historic Places, which includes the Hall of Waters. The annual list spotlights important examples of this nation’s architectural and cultural heritage that are at risk of destruction or irreparable damage. “The architectural artistry and fascinating history of the Hall of Waters draws visitors from around the world, but without partnerships and investment, the building will continue to deteriorate. Rehabilitating the Hall of Waters would bring economic benefits to Excelsior Springs while preserving a critical piece of the community’s identity and character,” Katherine Malone-France said. Malone-France is the chief preservation officer with the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The Hall of Waters is a Depression-era building with a rich history in the overall historic context and fabric of historic downtown Excelsior Springs, city information states. …
