An Excelsior Springs business owner appeared in Ray County Court after multiple motions were filed from both the state and the defense in regard to a bond revision, compelling the victim and security level. Melynda M. Casey, 48, of Polo is facing one felony charge of abuse or neglect of a child, no sexual contact. She appeared this week after Special Prosecuting Attorney Kristen E. Hillrenner filed a motion to correct redaction, and private attorney for Casey, Timothy D. Tipton, filed two motions, including a motion to compel competency evaluation and a motion to revise bond conditions.
