ESPD welcomes Officer Anderson

From childhood dream to reality, Caleb Anderson was sworn in as Excelsior Springs Police Department’s (ESPD) newest police officer. City Manager Molly McGovern swore in the officer. Anderson graduated from Kansas City Regional Police Academy on May 4 and was sworn in just a few weeks later. Anderson has always wanted to help people. “I grew up wanting to be a cop and especially having my father in the military, I knew this was the direction I wanted to go. I want to be a police officer so I can help. That’s what every cop should want to do, help.” After a ride along, Anderson knew ESPD was the right place for him. “I absolutely fell in love with this department,” he said. “All the wonderful guys and girls that work here, made it an easy decision.” Anderson grew up in a strict household with his father, who served in the U.S. Army.
