EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The city’s newest business, Excelsior Auction Co., has launched an online and live auction service. The company specializes in coins, but offers other niche items, such as its newest, a pocket watch auction. By specializing, owners Larry Janacaro and Troy Snelling said they offer clients better quality service. With a total of 60 years numismatic experience, Janacaro is a lifelong member of the American Numismatic Association. Founded in 1891, the association is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to educating and encouraging people to study and collect coins. Janacaro has seven years of experience in coin auction cataloging and comes to the business with 50 years of banking experience. He served as a vice president, trust officer and CEO of several banks, including 23 years as Lawson Bank president. He also has served the community through the Knights of Columbus.
