Museum to host Founding Families reception

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Excelsior Springs Museum and Archives is hosting a Founding Families Reception for the Million-Finely family. The reception will be 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the museum, located downtown on Broadway. The Excelsior Springs Genealogy Society creates a Founding Family display each year at the Excelsior Springs Museum and Archives. Local genealogists also research the family and compile information with genealogical information. This year, the museum has invited descendants of the Million-Finley family to visit and share their stories. It also has extended last year’s Founding Family display through the end of June because the pandemic did not allow for hosting the family reception last year. Travis Million played a major role in the discovery of the healing mineral waters upon which the town was founded.
