Reception recognizes retiring Excelsior Springs Fire Dept. chief

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Fire Chief Paul Tribble retired this week after 34 years with the department and a career of 36 years as a firefighter. Tribble began his career with ESFD on June 12, 1986, as a firefighter/EMT and later achieved certification as a paramedic. Throughout the years, he held the ranks of captain, assistant fire chief and deputy fire chief prior to becoming chief April 16, 2014. Tribble is best known for his compassion, giving nature and community outreach. He took the lead on educational programs for juvenile fire starters to alter their paths for the better. He arranged and personally funded trips to the fire station for tours and safety education. He dedicated many hours to providing instruction to generations of firefighters, EMTs and paramedics through the community at the Excelsior Springs Career Center, Blue River Community College, and University of Missouri Fire and Rescue Training Institute as an instructor.
