A once-intimidating waiting room inside the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office now radiates color and creativity thanks to a new mural designed by Liberty High School art students.Unveiled during a recent special ceremony, the student-led project was celebrated as more than an artistic achievement – it was recognized as a symbol of healing, collaboration and community connection.Clay County Prosecutor Zach Thompson emphasized the mural is part of a broader effort to create a more welcoming space for victims, particularly children, who come into the office during some of the most traumatic moments of their lives.“One of the things that we encounter in the prosecutor’s office is we meet people after they’ve had the worst day of their lives,” said Thompson. “Either they or someone they’ve cared about has had a very, very bad day, and when they come visit us, it can be extremely stressful.”Visitors to the office pass through me...
