The Excelsior Springs City Council recognized retired high school coach John Shepherd by designating Leavenworth Street as Honorary Coach John Shepherd Way. Furthermore, the council adopted a new ordinance regarding short-term rentals previously agreed upon between city staff and the Excelsior Springs Planning and Zoning Board.

The Excelsior Springs High School Principal, Sara Wickham announces Honor Roll students for the first semester of the school year. Each student listed for the 2023-2024 school year as obtained a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average including:
