In Times Like These

In times like these we have an opportunity to reflect on our own eternal destination. God assures us that He loves us with all he is and understands our sorrow, Isaiah 41:10. How do you know that he loves you? Romans 5:8 tell us, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Sin separates us from our God in heaven, so we have the opportunity to trust in the finished work of Christ on the cross for our salvation. He died in our place because sin deserves punishment and Christ is perfect. He was our substitute on the cross. Ephesians 2:8-9, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is a gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” Let us pray for those we know that need the power of God in their lives and the salvation Jesus offers.
