Russell “Bill” James Holland, 83, passed away Feb. 3, 2021, at the Kansas City VA Medical Center.

He was born April 26, 1937, in Salem, Virginia, to Allie and James Holland.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1965. He then took those skills to work as a jet engine mechanic for TWA and retired after 32 years. In his retirement, he acquired his captain’s license and provided charter services as the captain of his own boat.

He will be remembered for his love of all things mechanical. There was not anything he could not fix. He also enjoyed bowling, working on his antique guns and being a part of the Triumph sports car club.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Leonard; and his grandson, Dylan. He is survived by his children, Gary and Shirley, and Tami; his wife, Judy, and their children, Mark and Crystal, Lori and Mike, and Tami; and seven grandchildren, Aaron, Derek, Tim, Danie, Allie, Grant and Olivia; and sister, Francis Bryan, of Madera County, California.

At his request, no services will be held. He will be missed dearly.
