Theo “Ted” Lipscomb, 78, Excelsior Springs, Missouri, passed away Aug. 18, 2020.

Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs. A private graveside service will be held at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Disabled American Veterans on his behalf to honor his service to our country.

Theo was born Jan. 3, 1942, to Theo E. and Edna Lipscomb in New Orleans, Lousiana.

Ted retired from the United States Navy as a petty officer first class. After his Navy career, Ted began working for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after many years of service. Ted was highly active, spending several years as a volunteer police officer, and being active at St. Ann Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Masonic Lodge and Sons of the American Revolution. He was a great husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Paul and Theo Lipscomb.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter, Suzanne Schnell; sons, Charles (Shelly) Lipscomb and Joseph Lipscomb; sister, Sharon (Ralph) Rojas; and grandchildren, Sarah (Sean) Wall, Amy Gent, Natalie Lipscomb and Alaina Lipscomb.
