Beile seeks family atmosphere as new ESHS volleyball coach

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – For the first time in 14 years, the Excelsior Springs varsity volleyball program will be under the direction of a new coach. With the retirement of Terri Irons, Kathryn Beile will take the helm of the Tigers. Beile looks to bring a strong family culture to the program. Beile comes to Excelsior Springs after assistant coaching stints at Park Hill and Park Hill South high schools. Prior to her coaching career, she was a setter at Park University, where she graduated in 2013; and Liberty High School, where she graduated in 2009. “I believe in using the players you have and the talents they offer to decide what is the best offense for our team’s specific needs,” Beile said. “Once we see the girls play volleyball, we will have a better understanding of the type of offense we will run.” Relationship-building was key to bringing Beile to Excelsior Springs, she said. “The experiences and relationships I’ve had along my journey have all led me here,” Beile said. “I…
