Excelsior Springs offers summer options for active families

Many youth activities in Excelsior Springs have been canceled for the summer, but that does not mean your child’s summer activities must stop. The town is full of trails for bike rides or walks. For example, you can take your kids downtown and hop on the Excelsior Springs Trail System. Start on the Fishing River Linear Trail, then connect to the Isley Park Woods, and finish up on the East Valley Park and Siloam Mountain Park trails. Once you finish up, double your route by turning around and heading back to your starting point. On this route, you can view the historic Hall of Waters, Excelsior Springs Police Station, Jim Piburn baseball field and Lover’s Lane. Atop Siloam Mountain Park, you can get a panoramic view of Excelsior Springs. This trail will take you around 2 miles one way.
