Golfers prepare for season on Excelsior Springs’ links
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – One thing that will help prepare the Excelsior Springs girls golf program for the competition the Tigers will see this fall is the course they practice on every day.
“Our girls have an advantage because we have one of the most difficult courses around,” coach David Stalder said. “When they have days they think they aren’t playing well when we are at home, they go to other courses and realize they are better than they thought because other courses are not as tough as what they are used to playing on.”
While on the course, Stalder expressed the need for the Tigers to spend more time getting better around the greens and the short game.
“That is a major flaw of most high school players and that can be the difference between playing golf and scoring in golf,” he said.
