Excelsior Springs varsity girls basketball coach JD Biermann and his Tigers might be playing for a district title this weekend.At press time, the girls were scheduled to face Kansas City Central Thursday night in the Class 4 District 14 Tournament semifinals at Excelsior Springs, with the victor advancing to the championship game, set for 5 p.m. Saturday, also at Excelsior Springs.The Tigers were looking to snap a threegame losing skid entering the singleelimination postseason competition. After falling 66-22 to Smithville Feb. 24 on the road, they lost to Oak Grove 58-35 Feb. 26 and then to Raytown South 50-27 Feb. 27.Oak Grove took control early against visiting Excelsior Springs, leading 20-10 after one quarter.
