Stottlemyre hones volleyball, hoops skills at Excelsior Springs HS
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Like many student-athletes at Excelsior Springs High School, senior Rylie Stottlemyre plays more than one sport.
Stottlemyre plays volleyball and basketball for the Tigers. She has been a starter for both programs for two years. She expects to start again her senior year.
During her junior volleyball season, Stottlemyre led the Tigers with 107 kills and was second on the team with 18 aces and third on the team with 13 blocks. Her contributions helped her receive honorable mention on the all district team.
In basketball, Stottlemyre’s 10.2 points per game her junior season was second on the team, as was her 100 rebounds and 13 blocked shots.
“As an athlete, I really like and am inspired by LeBron James,” she said. “He is a very good leader, and even when he’s not playing well, he doesn’t get down on himself or others.”
