Stout, O’Dell pace ES at KC XC meet
On Sept. 30, Excelsior Springs’ varsity cross country runners found themselves in a crowded field of competition.
That day, the Tigers ran in the Kansas City Cross Country Classic at Peculiar, hosted by Raymore-Peculiar High School. Excelsior Springs was among 44 schools there.
In the girls competition, sophomore Kirsten Stout paced Excelsior Springs, finishing 183rd in 24:55.3. In other girls results, senior Brayliss Whitworth took 191st in 25:35.1; sophomore
Katie Houck placed 202nd in 26:28.3; Kennedi Winford, a first-year high schooler, claimed 203rd place in 26:29.4; and Camden McDaniels, also a firstyear high schooler, finished 210th in 30:22.7.
Silas O’Dell, a junior, led the Excelsior Springs boys, finishing 211th in 21:48.2. In other boys results, senior Braedyn Sejkora ran a season-best time of 21:53.7 to finish 212th; William Tade, a sophomore, placed 222nd in 24:02.4; and Alec Armstrong, a first-year high schooler, finished 224th in 25:50.7.
