Tigers claim girls golf title
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers have shot their way to the Missouri River Valley Conference girls golf title.
Entering Tuesday’s Senior Night triangular at the Excelsior Springs Golf Course, the Tigers needed to sweep Pleasant Hill and Warrensburg to win the title. They did exactly that.
The Tigers shot a combined 202, topping Warrensburg’s 208 and Pleasant Hill’s 213 to claim the championship outright. By winning the triangular, the golfers secured Excelsior Springs’ first girls golf conference championship since the fall of 2005 and the first one since rejoining the MRVC.
Excelsior Springs senior Amanda Pranke led the way, shooting a 45 to finish as the overall medalist. Senior Hope Chappel was Excelsior Springs’ No. 2 golfer, finishing with a 50, followed by junior Bella Pennington’s 52, junior Kailey Sejkora’s 55, and sophomore Olivia Kelley’s 57.
Tuesday’s triumph followed a Sept. 22 triangular and a Sept. 24 tournament. At the triangular, the ladies had their best team round…
