Upperclassmen look to lead Excelsior Springs runners
Excelsior Springs cross country coach Steve Houck will have some experienced runners again this varsity season.On the girls side, the program returns two-year letterwinner Katie Houck – one of three girls juniors. Lillah Shue and Kirsten Stout complete the trio.Other potential girls contributors include sophomores Camden McDaniels and Kennedi Winford.Senior Silas O’Dell, a three-year letterwinner, will lead the boys. O’Dell is among four boys upperclassmen, the others being juniors Liam Hedding, William Tade and Conrad Purnell. Hedding and Tade are returning letterwinners. Purnell joins the team after coming off a knee injury suffered during wrestling season.O’Dell, Hedding, Tade and Purnell are among eight runners competing for six varsity spots.
