ST. JOSEPH – It appears Excelsior Springs High School graduate Sam Webb will have one more full season of playing NCAA Division II football. Webb is listed on Missouri Western State University’s 2021 roster as a senior cornerback. His senior season was orginally slated for 2020, but the Griffons’ season was cut short because of COVID. The Griffons played only two games last season, both lossess. On Oct. 31, they fell to the University of Central Arkansas, an NCAA FCS program, 52-10 at Estes Stadium. On Nov. 7, they fell to Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association foe Pittsburg State University 20-7 at Spratt Stadium. Webb and his fellow Griffons are slated to open Sept. 2 on the road against the University of Central Oklahoma. ...
