LAS VEGAS – The Raiders just inked a deal with a former Excelsior Springs standout football player. Sam Webb, a 2016 graduate, signed as an undrafted free agent with the Raiders this weekend after the NFL Draft, held in Las Vegas, home to the Raiders since 2020.

ES boys netters go 3-1 to close April

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers had a nearly perfect week the last week of April in varsity boys tennis. Excelsior Springs went 3-1 in duals, scoring wins over Odessa and Clinton, both on April 26; and Odessa again on April 28.

ES bats explode in back-to-back routs

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers’ offense continued to roar last week in varsity baseball. Excelsior Springs outscored its opponents 23-3 in two home games, getting a 12-2 non-conference win April 25 over Van Horn of Independence and an 11-1 Missouri River Valley Conference West Division win April 28 over Odessa.

ES baseballers stage big inning, snap skid

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Sometimes, it takes just one big inning to end a losing streak. The Tigers had just that April 19 against visiting Fort Osage to end a fourgame skid in varsity baseball with a 4-2 win.

Tigers produce 10 top-five finishes at Mineral Water Classic

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Overall, the Tigers “had a great day” in varsity track and field April 22 at the Mineral Water Classic, coach Jonah Albertson said. “With the 20-plus mile-per-hour wind we had, we didn’t expect too many personal records, but we still came away with 13 on the day,” Albertson said.
