Body For Excelsior Springs seniors Cooper Collins, Gaige Carr and Cooper Lester, wrestling at the Class 2 state boys tournament was a farewell. It also was a farewell for Cody Beck, their coach.

Body A win over Odessa in varsity boys basketball eluded Excelsior Springs this season. Excelsior Springs went 0-3 against the Bulldogs, losing twice to them during the regular season and once during the postseason.

Body KNOB NOSTER – When Excelsior Springs needed Lara Hutton to come through in the clutch Monday night in varsity girls basketball, Hutton turned to her training. Excelsior Springs was leading Richmond 44-43 when Hutton was fouled with 5.

Body Cooper Collins’ senior wrestling season nearly ended the same way his first high school season had. Collins, who’ll graduate in May from Excelsior Springs, placed second in the 144-pound division at the Class 2 state boys tournament, held Feb.

Body For the fourth straight season, Cooper Collins experienced the thrill of being a state qualifier in boys wrestling. This year, though, the Excelsior Springs senior also experienced the thrill of being a district champion.
