The Excelsior Springs School District has made up some financial ground, Superintendent Jaret Tomlinson told district leaders during a recent Board of Education meeting in the Support Services Center.

This year, in addition to making resolutions about our own health and wellness, what if we considered what we could all do to impact the health and wellness of our entire community? Excelsior Springs SAFE is a coalition working to prevent youth substance use and addiction. SAFE meets monthly at Excelsior Springs Hospital, bringing community members from all sectors together to share information and resources with the goal of making a real and lasting impact in the areas of youth substance use and mental health. The work of SAFE and their partner organizations has successfully lowered youth substance use rates in Excelsior Springs, and SAFE encourages everyone in the community to be a part of these efforts.
