Eden Village panel answers community questions

A discussion was held recently between Excelsior Springs citizens and representatives of Eden Village , a nonprofit organization aiming to end homelessness within the community. Various factors relating to the local homeless population and how Eden Village can meet that need were explained by the group’s panel, which included Nate Schlueter, chief visionary officer; Alfredo Palacol, founding executive director; Kelly Anderson, board president and Jenifer Chapel, caseworker.

Property tax assessments rise

Dispatchers to be recognized as first responders

Governor Mike Parsons recently signed Senate Bill 24 into law, recognizing Public Safety Telecommunications and Missouri State Highway Patrol Communications Operators as first responders as well as allowing them access to mental health funding.

Hero Storytime success at local library

The Excelsior Springs Fire Department took part in Hero Storytime at Mid-Continent Public Library recently. Firefighters spent an afternoon with community children reading stories, singing and dancing.
