KANSAS CITY – With COVID-19 numbers improving, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas and Clay County last week agreed to let bars bars and restaurants stay open until midnight, but masks and social distancing remain requirements.

The SAFE program is designed to educate the community about the importance of 40 developmental assets in a child’s experience to assure the child thrives throughout life.

Known as Clacton Estates, the single-family subdivision will be built near Kearney and Wornall roads; west of Cornerstone Elementary School, now under construction; and east of the Stone Crossing and Cherry Hills subdivisions, minutes from the Planning and Zoning Commission’s Dec.

District praised for individualized instruction efforts

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – John Ruddy praised the Excelsior Springs School District for the Alternative Methods of Instruction-Extended, or AMI-X, plan to teach students during the coronavirus pandemic. Ruddy is one of two Department of Elementary and Secondary Education state supervisors of instruction serving Region B.
