ES boys netters go 2-1 on the road

Finally, the Excelsior Springs varsity boys tennis team gets to stay home for a while. As of this writing, the Tigers were slated to begin a slate of six home duals and a home tournament, starting with Tuesday’s meeting with Harrisonville.

Tigers take 11 events at Chillicothe meet

Excelsior Springs had 11 champions to show for its first varsity track and field meet this season. Competing on March 30 at the Chillicothe Early Season Invitational, the Tigers won seven boys events and four girls events.

Tigerette signs to dance at William Jewell

Another Tigerette will continue to dance after high school. Excelsior Springs senior Kelsey Coleman recently signed a letter of intent to be a part of the dance team at William Jewell College in Liberty, where she’ll major in psychology.

During his tenure as Excelsior Springs varsity baseball coach, Aaron Holst has guided the Tigers through a few no-hitters, including their 1-0 seasonopening win March 17 over visiting William Chrisman. The latest one, however, was different: It was a combined no-hitter.
