EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Sometimes, it takes just one big inning to end a losing streak. The Tigers had just that April 19 against visiting Fort Osage to end a fourgame skid in varsity baseball with a 4-2 win.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Overall, the Tigers “had a great day” in varsity track and field April 22 at the Mineral Water Classic, coach Jonah Albertson said. “With the 20-plus mile-per-hour wind we had, we didn’t expect too many personal records, but we still came away with 13 on the day,” Albertson said.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers are trying to find their winning ways again in varsity girls soccer. After winning four straight from March 31 to April 11, Excelsior Springs had lost five out of six through Monday’s 2-1 road loss to Savannah.

CLINTON – When it came to varsity boys golf this spring, Excelsior Springs was difficult to beat in Missouri River Valley Conference West Division play. The Tigers went 6-1 in divisional matches, with their only loss coming to Pleasant Hill by one stroke in their opening triangular.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers nabbed a team title and six event victories at the Highway 92 Meet, including five individual wins. “We had a great day overall, with 70 more personal records (set),” coach Jonah Albertson said.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers hit a rough patch of varsity baseball last week. Playing in the Northland Tournament, Excelsior Springs went 0-4, falling to Oak Park, North Kansas City, Liberty and St.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers are sitting above .500 midway through the duals schedule of their varsity boys tennis season. Excelsior Springs, 5-3, moved above .500 April 11 with a 5-4 road win over Winnetonka.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – For roughly two weeks, Excelsior Springs was on a hot streak in varsity girls soccer. Starting with a 1-0 March 31 home win over Center, the girls won four straight.

SMITHVILLE – Ethan Edwards led the way for the Tigers again at their most recent boys golf tournament. The Excelsior Springs senior placed fourth at the Oak Park Invitational, held April 11 at the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex, shooting an 81 for his 18-hole round.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers went 2-4 as they crammed six varsity baseball games into last week’s calendar. Excelsior Springs opened with an April 4 trip to Smithville, where the Tigers fell 7-3.
