Young Tigers ready to hit the links in boys golf

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers enter the boys golf season with limited varsity experience but have a young core of golfers eager to learn the game. As the only returning player with varsity experience, junior Ethan Edwards will lead Excelsior Springs’ 13 golfers on the links.

Lawmakers to add 12.5 cents to each gallon of gas

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Senate’s answer to growing road and bridge needs is to add 12.5 cents per gallon to the motor fuel tax – equal to about $460 million annually. The 73.5% increase, going to 29.5 cents per gallon, would equal about $1.25 more for every 10 gallons put in a fuel tank.
STATE fuel tax may increase.

Bill was born on Nov. 15, 1931, in Macon, the son of John and Lucille (Case) Bamman. He was united in marriage to Patti (Snowden) Pack of Richmond on June 20, 1976. She survives of the home.

Council OKs work schedule, OT changes at PD

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Police officers have one shorter shift to work every two weeks. Heeding Chief Clint Reno’s recommendation, the City Council passed an ordinance March 1 to start a police officer’s overtime pay once that officer has worked 80 hours over two weeks.
