INDEPENDENCE – Winter sports have wrapped at Excelsior Springs. The Tigers concluded their winter schedule Thursday, when four wrestlers competed in the Class 2 state boys tournament at Cable Dahmer Arena: Damon Ashworth, Micah Danner, Landen Davis and Ayden Dolt.

Arrest follows homicide

RICHMOND – The investigation continues into a suspected Lafayette County homicide following a chase involving law enforcers from multiple jurisdictions, recovery of a Pleasant Hill man’s body and the arrest of a homicide suspect, Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers said late Tuesday afternoon.

“We’re certain it is a homicide,” he said.
