Elaine was a much-beloved resident of Lawson, MO for over 52 years. She became known as an inspirational force as well as an adoptive mother and grandmother to so many in the community.

Ed was born on Jan. 1, 1939, in Trenton, MO to Clifford and Flavia (Arbuckle) Haney. He married Freda Pitts in 1957 and they had two children, Eddie and Vickie.

Norman (Gene) Deckard, 83, passed away peacefully Jan. 11, 2022, at Liberty Hospital.

Gene was born Dec. 10, 1938, in Kansas City, MO to Lester and Gusta Deckard. He attended Park Hill High School and the University of Central Missouri. He was employed by Baxter Healthcare for 34 years.

 Luvicie "Vicie" Delle (Tennyson) Bennett, 67, passed away at her home Sunday Jan. 16, 2022. 

She was born on Jan. 5, 1955, in Richmond, MO to the late Mary Jane and Harold N. Tennyson. She was united in marriage to Fred L. Bennett on June 16, 1973.

John David Allen, Jr. of Wood Heights, MO passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, at Liberty Hospital.  He was 83 years young, but even with his larger-than-life personality, zest for life and amazing sense of humor, he unfortunately struggled with various medical conditions which eventually became too much for him to fight.

Ward Junior Wollard passed away Dec. 27, 2021, at the age of 84.  He was born on Feb. 11, 1937, in Hardin, MO to Ward Reed and Glenna Mae (Hawkins) Wollard and was baptized on April 14, 1946, at the Methodist Church of Excelsior Springs, MO.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Members of Excelsior Springs’ varsity boys soccer team reaped postseason honors for the Tigers’ third-place Class 2 state finish. Senior Ethan Edwards received Class 2 first-team, all-state honors and was named Class 2 Co-Defensive Player of the Year by the Missouri High School Soccer Coaches Association.
