Zapata on a mission with ES soccer squad

Jake Zapata has two seasons left to achieve a goal that narrowly eluded him in his first two seasons of playing varsity boys soccer at Excelsior Springs High School. As a first-year high schooler and a sophomore, Zapata helped Excelsior Springs post back-to-back third-place finishes in the Class 2 state tournament.

Farmers Market Week to be observed

National Farmers Market Week is just around the corner and the Excelsior Springs Farmers Market will participate in this year’s nationally recognized event. Coordinated by the Excelsior Springs Chamber of Commerce’s Farmers Market Coalition, the first annual celebration will take place Wednesday, Aug.

Clay and Ray Veterans Association serves community

The Excelsior Springs Clay and Ray Veterans Association is home to five distinct groups – The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the VFW Auxiliary, all serving veterans, their families, the community and students in Excelsior Springs.
