Community gathers to cut ribbon at new school

SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS and highschool cheerleaders were on hand for the ribbon cutting at Lewis Elementary, marking the opening of the school. “The Excelsior Springs School District (ESSD) has completed construction of Lewis Elementary and Cornerstone Elementary without raising the tax rate to do so,” said ESSD Superintendent Jaret Tomlinson.

Overseas gifts through Operation Christmas Child

Local volunteers are celebrating the successful collection of shoeboxes filled with gifts which will bring joy to children around the world. Excelsior Springs residents, along with thousands of volunteers, have joined Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, by packing shoeboxes with toys, school supplies and personal care items.

Biermann tests skills at nationals
