Police nab would-be catalytic converter thieves

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – A metro area crime trend has reached Excelsior Springs, Police Chief Clint Reno told city leaders during a late-January work session. The metro is experiencing an increase in thefts of catalytic converters from motor vehicles, Reno said.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Boy Scout Troop 313 member Landen Summers completed his Eagle Scout project, a Blessing Box food pantry, to reach the Eagle Scout rank, the highest possible rank in the Boy Scout program.

ES varsity boys drop two at Richmond Winter Classic

RICHMOND – The Excelsior Springs varsity boys basketball team got in some more game reps last week. The ballclub, which has had some gaps in its schedule this season because of the pandemic, played in two Richmond Winter Classic games, falling to Wellington-Napoleon 64-30 Jan.

POLO – At the side of a woman dying from gunshot wounds, Greg Baker, 55, Polo, said he called 911 and then waited more than 20 minutes for help, gave the first deputy to arrive “an ass chewing” and went hunting for the shooter.
