Josh Hawley, Missouri’s firstterm junior U.S. senator, works overtime to try to make himself sound like a big deal.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The golf course plans to have a new cart fleet in March 2023. “The city typically purchases” fleets of carts through 60-month rent-to-own agreements, City Manager Molly McGovern stated in a memoradum to city leaders.

LIBERTY – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office issued an annual report to the community. “A report like this is important to show the community how we use their tax dollars and let them hold us accountable,” Sheriff Will Akin said.

LIBERTY – A March 8 Clay County Sheriff’s Office pursuit resulted in an arrest and four felony charges. The Clay County Prosecutor’s Office charged Jimmy Sonneveldt, 32, with tampering with a motor vehicle, first degree, a Class D felony; two counts of leaving the scene of an accident causing property damage or $1,000 or more, each a Class E felony; and resisting arrest by fleeing, a Class E felony.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – A crop of 88 athletes are out for track and field at Excelsior Springs High School. And they, along with coach Jonah Albertson, have set the bar high for this season.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Baseball fans will see a new turf when they see the Tigers play their home games this season. They will see many familiar faces, however, on that new field.

KANSAS CITY –The Northland Coalition’s virtual 2022 Prevention Conference opened March 4 with an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding members for their contributions to prevention and the coalition.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers are taking a defensive approach this season in varsity girls soccer. “We will be a team that comes out with guts and intensity,” coach Zac Ganzer said.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – A juniorladen crew will hit the courts this spring for the Tigers in varsity boys tennis. Excelsior Springs returns four juniors from last season: Joshua Oldham, Carter Pitts, Colby Mueller and Lee Mueller.

JEFFERSON CITY – The Department of Natural Resources reviewed water quality for all eight public water systems in Ray County and Excelsior Springs PWS in Clay County. “No violations occurred in the calendar year 2020,” DNR reported for each district in the release of the 2022 Census of Missouri Public Water Systems.
