Excelsior school board amends budget; halves deficit

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Superintendent Travis Hux foresees “a happy ending” to what “feels like a horror movie”: Excelsior Springs School District’s deficit spending. An amended budget approved April 11 by the Board of Education at the Support Services Center might be a step toward that happy ending.

ES girls soccer team goes on tear

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – For roughly two weeks, Excelsior Springs was on a hot streak in varsity girls soccer. Starting with a 1-0 March 31 home win over Center, the girls won four straight.

ES boys netters above .500 in dual schedule

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers are sitting above .500 midway through the duals schedule of their varsity boys tennis season. Excelsior Springs, 5-3, moved above .500 April 11 with a 5-4 road win over Winnetonka.

ES boys win, girls third at Highway 92 Meet

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers nabbed a team title and six event victories at the Highway 92 Meet, including five individual wins. “We had a great day overall, with 70 more personal records (set),” coach Jonah Albertson said.
