During his tenure as Excelsior Springs varsity baseball coach, Aaron Holst has guided the Tigers through a few no-hitters, including their 1-0 seasonopening win March 17 over visiting William Chrisman. The latest one, however, was different: It was a combined no-hitter.

The Excelsior Springs Police Department reported the following arrests handled recently by the department. THURSDAY MARCH 9 At 8:58 a.m., Beverly McCormack, 33, was arrested for failure to appear.

One-year term seat to be filled

The Clay County Public Health Board is not only looking to fill two fouryear term seats in the upcoming April 4 election, but also one person for a one-year term. Two candidates have tossed their hat into the ring — Debbie Florido and Andrew Pileggi.

Haslett heads back to court

Due to possible technical and procedural issues with an impaneled grand jury, the case of Timothy Haslett, accused of rape and eight other offenses, is headed back to the Clay County Grand Jury at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 22.

Clay County Public Health Board candidates vie for four-year term

With the April 4 election quickly approaching, Clay County Public Health Board candidates answered questions about issues and philosophies affecting Clay County Public Health. Voters will be faced with choosing two of the three candidates — John Barth, Kathy Ellermeier and Lancer Gates — to fill the open four-year terms.
