CIT trained to assist in mental health crises

Recognized during May, Mental Health Awareness Month was created as a way to educate the public about mental illness, raise awareness surrounding research and treatments, reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and celebrate recovery from mental illness.

ES Animal Control shares summer safety tips

Summer is here, and although many enjoy basking in the sun and playing outside with pets, warmer weather is not always so kind to four-legged family members. Excelsior Springs Animal Control Officer Melissa Davis offered tips to keep pets safe in the summer months.

Gantt signs to play basketball at McPherson College

An Excelsior Springs basketball player is moving on to the collegiate level. Rakai Gantt, who graduated May 12 from Excelsior Springs High School, recently signed a letter of intent to play at McPherson (Kan.) College, an NAIA school affiliated with the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
